Enrique Pérez Arbeláez (Medellín, 1886-Bogotá, 1972), was a Colombian botanist and Catholic priest, author of 37 books and a total of 110 publications. His most famous work, "Useful plants of Colombia.. Смотреть далее »", with a first volume published in 1935, complete edition in 1947 and multiple editions and reprints, deals with 1,900 vegetal species and is an affordable work for the common public. He wrote the book "Hilea Magdalenesa. Economic prospection of the tropical valley of the Magdalena River", published in 1949, at a critical time of the river and its zone of influence. He was the Commissioner of the Ministry of National Education to lead together with Fernando Fernandez de Soto Morales the edition of "Tomo XLIV of the Flora of the Royal Botanical Expedition of the New Kingdom of Granada", dedicated to the Quinas and the genus Cinchona, published in 1957.
