View of Velez

Vélez is a town and municipality of the Santander Department in northeastern Colombia. Famous for the Cathedral Our Lady of the snow and the Cave of the Indians, that was refuge of the indigenous Agat.. Смотреть далее »a, to protect themselves from the attacks of the Spaniards. It is considered historical patrimony, since inside we can find: Underground waterfalls, a room of stalagmites, stalactites and the fossil of the mummy of the Agata chief.
It was one of the first territories in the world and the first in Latin America to give women the right to vote, in 1853.
