Cinchona Lancefolia

The tree belongs to the family of the Rubiaceae. It is located in Ecuador, Venezuela, Andean cordilleras and in the oriental one in Colombia. It can be found at altitudes between 1,700-2,700 m.

Quinine of this species is very bitter and febrifuge, and the bark contains approximately 35 g. per kilo. In medicine it´s used for its aromatic, balsamic, antipyretic, antidote, and febrifuge properties.
